<\/a>Dopo aver fatto emergere follia e ragione tra i Goven, i fratelli Hoyt si trovano a dover affrontare una conseguenza che va ben oltre le loro aspettative: Londra bruciata dalla guerra. Costretti in fuga dopo le accuse che li mostrano come i responsabili degli omicidi della famiglia di Glasgow, dovranno lottare non solo contro dei soldati di metallo, ma anche contro il tempo che li separa dalla loro consanguinea.<\/p>\n

Il terzo capitolo della serie di SteamBros Investigations sembra aver seguito la crescita dei propri autori, giungendo al culmine della qualit\u00e0 e offrendo una storia variegata, intrigante e ricca di tensione e colpi di scena. Seguire le vicende di Mel e Nick era diventata un’abitudine che qua si rinnova e si rafforza. I protagonisti affrontano la loro maturazione finale dando l’impressione di poter uscire dalle pagine in cui sono confinati, talmente \u00e8 alto il realismo della loro caratterizzazione e delle reazioni agli eventi che si trovano a dover superare.<\/p>\n

Brothers War fa suo l’elemento dell’azione, che non lascia sosta dal primo istante e da alla narrazione un ritmo sorprendentemente movimentato. I riferimenti a personaggi storici realmente esistiti hanno dato quel tocco in pi\u00f9 al libro senza risultare inopportuni, ma anzi insediandosi perfettamente nella storia. Tristezza, sollievo, rassegnazione e gioia si susseguono tra passato e presente in un moto che chiarifica ogni mistero e cerca di porre rimedio agli errori commessi. I fratelli Hoyt dovranno mettere in discussione loro stessi e ci\u00f2 in cui hanno sempre creduto fino ad ora se vorranno davvero salvare loro stessi. Sar\u00e0 un cammino doloroso, che il lettore vivr\u00e0 sulla propria pelle attraverso le loro brillanti menti e da cui trarr\u00e0 dei grandi insegnamenti.<\/p>\n

La trilogia di Alastor Maverick e L.A. Mely mi ha stupito in positivo e nel complesso sono rimasta colpita dalla padronanza dell’ambientazione e dalla forza di due personaggi che hanno lasciato una traccia indelebile nel mio cuore, per le lotte interiori e le battaglie personali che vengono con orgoglio portate avanti, attraverso la denuncia sociale e l’inno all’intelligenza e alla saggezza che illumina la strada come un faro nella pi\u00f9 profonda oscurit\u00e0.
Mi mancher\u00e0 la spavalderia di Nicholas, cos\u00ec come la supponenza di Melinda. Attender\u00f2 un loro futuro ritorno tenendo vigile un orecchio: in attesa di risentire il rombo inconfondibile del loro sidecar.<\/p>\n
