Una serie di fatti incredibili e inspiegabili stanno per venire alla luce sconvolgendo Atticus, supportato dall&#8217;eccentrico zio George e dalla meravigliosa amica d&#8217;infanzia Letitia.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Il romanzo di Matt Ruff \u00e8 giunto a me in modo totalmente inaspettato. Mi sono immersa nella lettura senza avere troppe pretese e devo dire che sono rimasta particolarmente sorpresa e intrigata dalla piega che gli avvenimenti prendono. Come si pu\u00f2 evincere dal titolo, l&#8217;opera \u00e8 fortemente influenzata dalle tinte gotiche e horror tipiche di Lovecraft, pregne di manifestazioni paranormali dall&#8217;illogico ma reale significato.<\/p>\n<p>Oltre a ci\u00f2 ho trovato d&#8217;impatto la decisione di Ruff di accostare le opinioni sociali controverse di Lovecraft a dei protagonisti di colore, \u00e8 una cosa che mi ha fatto sghignazzare e che sicuramente l&#8217;autore di Cthulhu avrebbe trovato ripugnante!<\/p>\n<p>Il trio dei protagonisti mi ha subito ricordato i fratelli Winchester della serie Supernatural e devo dire che anche le atmosfere in parte si eguagliano. Certo, Dean e Sam sono molto pi\u00f9 caciaroni, al contrario dei Turner che invece si trovano a vivere letteralmente sulla propria pelle il dramma del razzismo e del pregiudizio.
