Ma quando questo passato torna a bussare alla porta, Marshall \u00e8 costretto a tornare a Bienville, nel Mississippi, per far fronte ai doveri famigliari, trovandosi per\u00f2 di fronte a un caso di delitto da seguire: quello dell&#8217;archeologo Buck Ferris, conoscenza di suo padre, trovato morto e con la testa fracassata. Le indagini porteranno l&#8217;uomo a tornare a conoscere il paese da cui era scappato, cercando proprio l\u00ec la notizia pi\u00f9 importante della sua carriera.<\/p>\n<p>Sono state le persone a me vicine a farmi conoscere Greg Iles e a consigliarmi assolutamente la lettura dei suoi libri. &#8220;Cemetery Road&#8221; \u00e8 quindi il mio primo approccio all&#8217;autore, che posso affermare con certezza avermi conquistato. L&#8217;atmosfera del romanzo \u00e8 in equilibrio tra la tensione dell caso di omicidio e l&#8217;introspezione del protagonista; entrambi questi elementi stuzzicano la curiosit\u00e0 del lettore, che conoscendo meglio l&#8217;uno riesce a comprendere sempre di pi\u00f9 l&#8217;altro. Si viene a contatto con diverse condizioni di famiglia, che mostrano tutte in modo differente le bassezze dell&#8217;animo umani, i segreti e i doveri legati all&#8217;essere dello stesso sangue di persone influenti. Questo ha come conseguenza un conflitto interiore terrificante, che pesa come un macigno e fa perdere la lucidit\u00e0, lasciando che colpe non reali si accumulino rendendo quella spirale di infinit\u00e0 oscurit\u00e0 ancora pi\u00f9 buia. Le speranze vengono meno, cos\u00ec come le forze di riuscire a venirne fuori.<\/p>\n<p>Iles calibra molto bene ogni aspetto della sua opera, spargendo colpi di scena sorprendenti, tanto quanto il finale, che soddisfa e rende valida la lettura.
